The Hold Steady

I will just start this off by saying that I love The Hold Steady. I would marry them if I could (there are several reasons why I can't that I won't get into here).

The first time I flew to New Zealand was quite an ordeal. I had a six hour flight to Los Angeles, then a six hour layover, then a twelve hour flight to Auckland. Add another hour for immigration and two for getting to and around JFK, that is about 27 hours in total.

That entire time was spent listening to a dubbed cassette with Almost Killed Me on side A and Separation Sunday on side B.

Actually, I popped an Ambien so you can subtract 8 hours from that total because I was sleeping.

I ran into Craig at Beauty Bar a while back and tried to drunkenly tell him that story, but I don't know how well I got my point across. That was during my brief period of embarrassingly gushing to people about their bands. I try not to so much anymore.

Ladies and gentlemen, for your listening pleasure, a single by The Hold Steady.

Quality isn't great, but thanks a ton for this, I've been looking for it for awhile. I'm a big fan of Hold Steady. :D

I am nothing if not concerned with quality.

I went through and digitized the record again to make sure I didn't make a mistake before. The resulting mp3s sounded exactly the same as the old ones.

There is little to no surface noise and few pops. This is, for better or worse, what the record sounds like. The quality is actually about as good as you are going get unless you actually get your hands on the master tapes.
