If by any chance anyone involved with the Sound & Fury record store happens to read this, Jimi Hey would like to state for the record that he sincerely regrets stealing from them and for what it's worth would like to offer his most heartfelt apologies. That was just plain wrong. I was an angry young man back then who thought wrongly that I could do whatever I wanted and that the world owed me a favor. I didn't understand the ramifications of my actions and how challenging it can be to operate a small business. Shame on me and please forgive me if possible. Peace and love to all.

I found this post through the MySpace link that Glass Candy posted, and it's a revelation. I think their current incarnation is spectacular and their Shattered Theatre days not so much, but it is still fascinating to read this much information on the old days. Both your text and discography along with the comments of other users have given me much more insight into the old days than any of the countless Glass Candy magazine articles over the past couple years have provided. It looks like your blog is worth exploring further. Keep up the good work, which I know you will.

I saw them live last year in moscow and it was a revelation. they were performing at a festival and just before them was the band Chromatics, which was great too! after the show i was in a daze for an hour or so...

BJ! I was at that South Philly show! How funny to think about! Do you remember that it was upstairs from a law office? And when kids would come in the building, if they touched the door to the office, an alarm would go off? It was maybe the 2nd time I met Vice Cooler, the time before was an XBXRX show in Portland, but anyway it was the first of maybe 50 times I saw Hawnay Troof. Johnny did break his guitar that show, standing on top of a bunch of writhing children. I think that was maybe the last time Melanie toured with them, for sure the last time Andy did, right? I think their first show was in 1999, at the Portland Todd P venue 17 Nautical Miles, Replikants played and Emergency played. Glass Candy brought a cassette they wanted played before they went on with Richard Hell and maybe David Bowie? They are great people.

Yeah, man! They stayed with me and my roommate here in Atlanta on that tour. I remember Andy sheepishly telling me about his new band that was going to be a hardcore band cuz he felt like he missed out the first time - it turned out it was Wrangler Brutes who were goddamn amazing in their own right.

I love this era. I can't say I'm too crazy about their Italio Disco stuff, although I appreciate their ability to overcome the back-assward Yeah Yeah Yeah's cage the press stuck them in and rise again. No easy feat that. Great people.
